Elders and Church Leadership

Christadelphian congregations are autonomous, so there are various kinds of structures. Many Christadelphian churches in Africa and newer Christadelphian areas have a pastor; the more traditional churches in Western countries have a system of visiting speakers, whereby speakers from the local Christadelphian churches take it in turn to visit other churches and give Bible talks. Various groupings of churches who are sympathetic to each other on various matters of spiritual culture tend to create committees or working groups to tackle evangelism and pastoral care issues. But there is no head office nor structure which is universally respected as having authority on matters of doctrine or fellowship. The more traditional churches allow only men to be elders or speakers, whereas the more liberal churches allow women as well.
