Pentecostalism

We respect the zeal of Pentecostals but are concerned that their claims regarding miracles and tongues do not match the Biblical experience of these miraculous gifts in the first century church. We are against the prosperity Gospel; we are called to carry the cross of the Lord Jesus and sacrifice all for Him, following His example of losing in this life that He might gain all things eternally. You can read transcripts of Christadelphian debates with Pentecostals regarding the issues dividing us and the present possession of the miraculous Spirit gifts in chapter 3 of Debating Bible Basics. This is not to say that we do not recognize the power and operation of God's power through His Spirit today, in our hearts and lives.
